Based on an analysis of the most urgent needs of Brazilians abroad, the legal services most needed in Brazil in the banking and tax areas are listed below.
Bank Enforcement Proceedings and Frozen Accounts
Defense in Enforcement Proceedings and Repossession Actions: Representation in lawsuits brought by banks and finance companies to collect debts, including defense in vehicle repossession actions (busca e apreensão).
Unfreezing Accounts (SISBAJUD): Urgent measures to release amounts frozen by court order (SISBAJUD is the system Brazilian courts use to freeze bank accounts), focusing on protecting amounts that cannot legally be seized, such as salary, savings and FGTS (Brazil's severance fund that employers deposit into monthly).
Bank Contract Review: Review of contracts to identify and challenge abusive interest, improper compounding and other illegal clauses.
Debt Negotiation: Representation in renegotiating debts under enforcement to reduce the amount owed and pay it in installments, seeking an agreement with the financial institution.
Tax Litigation and Planning
Defense in Tax Enforcement Proceedings: Representation in proceedings to collect unpaid taxes (execução fiscal, when the government sues to collect a tax debt), such as IPTU (municipal property tax), IPVA (vehicle tax), fines and federal taxes.
Resolving Tax and CPF Issues: Checking and regularizing debts registered as government tax debt (dívida ativa), preparing defenses and negotiating installment plans with the tax authorities to avoid restrictions on your CPF (Brazilian taxpayer ID).
Defense Against Tax Assessments: Representation in administrative and court proceedings against improper tax assessments and notices.
Recovery of Tax Credits: Identifying taxes paid improperly or in excess, in order to request tax offsets and refunds.
Is your CPF flagged for unpaid debt, or has your account been frozen by a court? We act in the defense of bank enforcement proceedings, unfreezing accounts through SISBAJUD and reviewing contracts with abusive interest. In the tax area, we resolve tax issues, defend you against tax assessments and recover amounts paid improperly. Resolve your debts in Brazil without leaving the country where you live, with 100% online service in Portuguese.

Frequently asked questions from people living in Paraguay or another country
Do I need to travel to Brazil to buy a property?
Not always. Some steps can be done remotely, and the analysis of the case shows which ones require your presence or a power of attorney.
Can the service be in Spanish?
Yes. The conversation can be in Portuguese or Spanish.
Do I need a power of attorney? Can I sign from abroad?
For the lawyer to handle the case, the power of attorney can be signed digitally (Brazilian Code of Civil Procedure, art. 105, § 1). For registry office (cartório) acts, such as the public deed (escritura) of a property or a probate (inventário), the power of attorney or the deed itself can be done at the Brazilian consulate or, in many cases, by video call with a registry office in Brazil, through the e-Notariado platform, with a digital certificate.
My child was born outside Brazil. Can they be Brazilian?
Yes. A child of a Brazilian father or mother born abroad is a native-born Brazilian if registered at a Brazilian office, such as the consulate, or if they come to live in Brazil and, after turning 18, opt for Brazilian nationality (Brazilian Constitution, art. 12, I, c).
I have an inheritance in Brazil and my family lives abroad. Do I need to travel for the probate?
Not always. When the law allows it and the heirs are in agreement, the probate (inventário) can be done at a registry office, and those living abroad take part by power of attorney or by video call. When the probate goes to court, the case can also be followed from abroad.
I have a debt or a lawsuit in Brazil and I live abroad. Can I defend myself from a distance?
Yes. Court cases today are generally electronic: Dr. Jin follows the case and files the defense, and you send the documents by WhatsApp or email.
How do I send the documents?
By WhatsApp or email. In your first message, send a summary of what happened and the documents you have.
Do you serve people living in countries other than Paraguay?
Yes. Service is online, by WhatsApp or video call, for people living in any country who have a matter in Brazil.
¿Atienden en español?
